Download PDFSummary
Engineering leader with 25+ years building and modernizing enterprise software platforms, scaling teams, and improving release reliability through CI/CD, governance, and cross-functional delivery. Deep experience in Salesforce, C#, SQL Server, and business transformation across IT and operations.
Most recently, re-engineered a sprawling, change-set-driven business platform into a software product by introducing source control, modular package architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and SOX-grade change management across 600 users in multiple departments. Cut regressions 50%, drove 100% audit compliance across 4 cycles, and rebuilt the engineering team from one remaining member to ten. That work builds on a career spanning enterprise software in C# and SQL Server, end-to-end IT through major business transformations, and multiple Salesforce implementations and overhauls. Known for hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams through mentorship, performance management, and clear stakeholder communication. That approach sustained delivery, morale, and platform integrity even through periods of significant organizational pressure.
Experience
Senior Director, Salesforce Engineering
Inspirato
Denver, Colorado
April 2022 – April 2026
Engineering leader for Inspirato's primary business platform: the system of record for membership, reservations, and revenue operations. Rigorous enterprise software engineering on the Salesforce platform.
- • Modernized core Salesforce systems on Apex Enterprise Patterns (Force DI, fflib Apex Common, fflib Apex Mocks, AT4DX, Nebula Logger) plus extensive in-house libraries built on top, reducing regression rates and shortening incident resolution times.
- • Re-architected external integrations onto standard Salesforce HTTP APIs (including bulkified query patterns) and async mechanisms (Platform Events, Change Data Capture, queueable callouts). Built a custom Apex routing framework over bulkified endpoints that made new integrations fast to develop and consistently scalable.
- • Reduced technical debt by retiring unused customizations, automations, and fields and simplifying configurations, lowering maintenance overhead and freeing capacity for revenue-driving enhancements.
- • Led the CRM team through company-wide expense reductions and reductions in force, running continuous feedback, semi-annual performance reviews, and decisive action on underperformance while maintaining platform stability, audit readiness, and delivery continuity.
- • Owned SOX release governance for the Salesforce platform by designing deployment-evidence capture in Jira and Azure DevOps to surface change-management data Salesforce doesn't natively expose, defining ITGC controls, and partnering with Audit, Finance, and IT GRC. Achieved 100% audit compliance across 4 semi-annual cycles over 2 years and reduced release risk for 600 users.
Director of Salesforce Development
Inspirato
Denver, Colorado
May 2019 – April 2022
Engineering leader for Inspirato's primary business platform during the period of greatest structural change.
- • Directed a 2-year platform transformation: migrated the platform from change-set, org-based deployment to Git trunk-based development with 2GP unlocked packages and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Salesforce CLI). Cut regressions 50% and increased release cadence from every 1–2 weeks to daily.
- • Built and scaled the Salesforce engineering function from one remaining team member to a 10-person team over 3 years through 13 hires across all levels of engineering and admin tracks. Established the group as a disciplined software engineering function with clear ownership, standards, and delivery expectations.
- • Developed talent from within, with multiple promotions across both engineering and admin tracks.
- • Established platform-wide engineering practices (code review, static analysis, Apex unit tests, Playwright end-to-end tests, package architecture, source-controlled change management) used by both engineers and admins.
- • Ran engineers and admins as one coherent team in Jira and GitHub, with workstream separation only where it improved focus. Brought admins into full engineering workflows (source control via Git, pull requests with code review, CI/CD, and QA testing), giving them the same delivery discipline as engineers.
Senior Architect – Salesforce
Zapcom Group (Optiv)
Denver, Colorado
May 2018 – May 2019
- • Led a distributed 5-person team across Denver and Hyderabad, improving remote collaboration, mentoring, and autonomous delivery across time zones. Developed Hyderabad-based engineers to operate with greater technical depth and ownership.
- • Modernized client deployment practices via package-based development, raising release predictability and developer productivity.
- • Built sophisticated Lightning component experiences (e.g., record tagging) that streamlined daily workflows.
Chief Information Officer
Guardian Tax
Longmont, Colorado
May 2017 – February 2018
IT and significant business operations leadership at a small, sales-driven tax-services firm.
- • Selected, customized, and integrated a stack of cloud business systems: CRM (Salesforce), contact center (Five9), performance management (Spinify), identity and productivity (Azure AD, Office 365, Skype for Business VOIP), storage (AWS S3).
- • Designed and built a flexible Salesforce lead-routing and pipeline system that handled lead intake, distribution, and pipeline management for the sales team.
- • Managed a 12-person prospecting team in addition to IT responsibilities, aligning sales execution, systems, and operational support in a small-company environment.
Network Administrator
Omni Financial
Broomfield, Colorado
November 2001 – May 2017
De facto IT lead for the firm; sole title held during 15+ years of expanding scope.
- • Owned end-to-end IT for a tax negotiation consulting firm over 15+ years, spanning infrastructure, communications, backup systems, and core business applications. Led major transitions including office relocation, VOIP modernization, and connectivity upgrades.
- • Designed, built, and maintained the company's lead intake, processing, and distribution platform: a SQL Server-backed C# Windows application that served as the operational backbone of the business for over a decade.
- • Led the company's Salesforce adoption in 2015, architecting and implementing the entire platform footprint to fit the firm's lead-handling and sales operations. This was my original Salesforce buildout, predating my focused Salesforce career.

Standards-Based Salesforce CI/CD Pipeline
Inspirato | 2020 – 2022
Overview
Designed and directed the implementation of a fully standards-based CI/CD pipeline for Salesforce, built entirely on Salesforce CLI and Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines, with no proprietary packages or vendor-locked tooling. The YAML-based approach is platform-agnostic by design, portable to GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or any standard CI system.
Deployment
- • 2GP unlocked packages installed via CLI: dependency management, rollback capability, modular architecture
- • Unpackageable metadata deployed via Metadata API through the CLI, covering the full spectrum of Salesforce deliverables
- • Trunk-based branching: as close to true trunk-based development as Salesforce’s long deployment times and long-lived integration environments allow
Quality Gates
- • Code formatting: consistent style across the codebase
- • Static analysis: catching issues before they reach a sandbox
- • Apex unit tests: run against actual Salesforce environments
- • End-to-end Playwright tests: validating user-facing behavior through the browser
Impact
- • Release cadence increased from every 1–2 weeks to daily
- • Regressions reduced by over 50% (part of the broader Delivery Transformation)
- • Engineers and administrators work through the same source-controlled, CI/CD-deployed workflow
